Assistant Principal- Lauren Sanders
A Message from Mrs. Sanders
I am proud of my roots on the Texas Gulf Coast, where growing up as an “island girl” shaped my love of community and connection. After recently moving to the Bryan-College Station area, I am thrilled to now call Iola home and feel truly welcomed here. Being an Iola Bulldog is extremely special and I am honored to be able to serve the students , staff, and community here. The 2025–2026 school year will mark my 15th year in education. I earned my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and hold a Principal as Instructional Leader certification from Lamar University. Throughout my career, I have served in many roles, including General Education Teacher, Instructional Coach, Dyslexia Therapist, and—my personal favorite—Special Education Teacher. I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for the 2023–2024 school year. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling. As an instructional leader, I strive to foster an environment rooted in inclusivity, where every student and staff member feels valued and empowered to succeed.
